Drawing on influences as varied as Bob Dylan to Squeeze, award-winning singer/songwriter, Billy Coulter delivers an authentic sound that straddles the line between Roots Rock and Power Pop. Coulter’s songwriting and distinctive vocal style has earned him several regional accolades, including the latest Washington Area Music (WAMMIE) Award for Male Roots Rock Vocalist of the Year. Coulter and his band play regularly in the mid-Atlantic region, often supporting touring national acts, and performing at festivals and venues such as Strathmore, The Birchmere, Wolf Trap, Rams Head, and IOTA. The band features Billy Coulter on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Tommy Derr on lead guitar and backing vocals, Doug Tull on drums and Chuck Dolan on bass and backing vocals.
Coulter’s latest CD, “DOSE” is scheduled for release in June. “’Dose’ is an album five years in the making, with some of my most hear-felt songs yet, just waiting to be discovered. I’m dealing with lost innocence, foolish obsessions and the trials of having a conscience – real things that real people can connect with and relate to,” said Coulter.
